MARY, OUR MOTHER ACCEPT THE TITLE QUEEN OF THE WORLD
AND LET US GLOW WITH ARDENT LOVE FOR YOU.
MAY THE WHOLE WORLD BE SET AFIRE FOR YOUR SERVICE
SO THAT ALL NATIONS FIND THEIR WAY SAFELY HOME.
FOR YOUR HOLY HEART IS THE
WORLD' S HARBOR OF PEACE,
THE SIGN OF ELECTION AND GATEWAY TO HEAVEN.
~Father Joseph Kentenich
The Mothers' branch of the Schoenstatt Movement was founded in Germany in the early 1930's. Under the guidance of the Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and Victress of Schoenstatt, mothers learn about and grow more fully into their mission as heart of the home. The Schoenstatt spirituality is unfolded through regular small group meetings along with retreats and days of recollection to help to deepen the covenant of love and commitment to the Church and the goals of Schoenstatt. The mothers' branch is open to all mothers and grandmothers of any age.
The Schoenstatt Family League (or Couples' League) was founded on July 16, 1942, in a concentration camp in Dachau. As families within the branch of the Family League, the couples strive first to build holy marriages. Couples are encouraged to faithfully follow the hierarchy in marriage - God, spouse, children, work - and in this way become holy couples who then form holy families which lead to a holy Church and world. Living out of Schoenstatt spirituality - the covenant of love, everyday sanctity, and instrumentality - helps the couple to reflect Mary and Joseph within the "Nazareth" family. The couples study and faithfully strive to live their marriage covenant according to the teachings of the Church. Those who belong to the Family (Couples' League) join together in smaller groups and meet each month to discuss the Schoenstatt spirituality, Catholic views of family and marriage, and how to live in everday life the true vocation of marriage and family.
The Women's branch of the Schoenstatt Movement are single women who strive to live life according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. They do so in the strength of the covenant of love with the Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and Victress of Schoensatt, her place of grace, the shrine, and the spirituality given by our founder. An essential part of their life is attending daily Mass and spending time in adoration of the Holy Eurcharist. They then go out in the world being little Marys, serving the needs of our parishes and the community.
The Men's League of Schoenstatt was formed as a branch here in the midwest in 1989 with the desire to offer men of all ages an opportunity to study learn and share their Catholic faith. Its members strive to fully live out their vocations in life, whether they be married, single, or ordained ministers. The goal of this branch of Schoenstatt is to help each man open his heart to seek God's will in his life, and - with the help of the Mother Thrice Admirable - create a strong desire to grow in holiness.
If you would like to join a Schoenstatt Mother's League, Couples's League Women's league or Men's league Branch please contact your local Schoenstatt leader or see under Events if classes are being offered.
DO YOU KNOW THE LAND SO WARM AND DEAR WHICH ETERNAL LOVE HAS BUILT ITSELF;
WHERE NOBLE HEARTS BEAT WITH AFFECTION
AND BEAR WITH EACH OTHER THE JOY OF SACRIFICE;
WHERE THEY GLOW AND SHELTER ONE ANOTHER
AND FLOW AS ONE INTO THE HEART OF GOD;
WHERE STREAMS OF LOVE WELL FORTH WITH MIGHT.
TO QUENCH THE THIRST OF THE WORLD FOR LOVE?
THIS LAND IS KNOWN TO ME - IT IS THE MEADOW RADIANTLY LIT BY TABOR'S SUN,
WHERE OUR THREE TIME ADMIRABLE LADY REIGNS IN THE MIDST OF HER FAVORITE CHILDREN,
LOYALLY REWARDING EACH GIFT OF LOVE WITH THE MANIFESTATION OF HER GLORY
AND IMMEASURABLY ABUNDANT FRUITFULNESS;
IT IS MY HOME, MY SCHOENSTATT LAND.
